This is a strategic business segment, pioneering a nascent field in Vietnam and the region. Geological studies indicate that fault structures—such as the Red River and Ma River faults—as well as tectonic structures offshore in the South China Sea, have the potential to harbor natural hydrogen. Deep sedimentary basins underlain by iron-rich basement rocks—such as pre-Cenozoic basement and ultramafic rocks—have also been identified as having potential, mirroring areas currently under exploration globally.
VH2 will provide specialized services, including:
Geological exploration consulting
- Collecting and analyzing geological, geophysical, and geochemical data to identify prospective areas.
- Developing geological structural models for target areas.
- Assessing potential and determining locations for exploration drilling.
Exploration surveys and drilling
- Collaborating with international technology partners experienced in natural hydrogen exploration drilling.
- Implementing exploration drilling programs (drilling depths >1,000m) to verify reserves.
- Sampling and analyzing gas from boreholes to evaluate hydrogen composition, concentration, and pressure.
Reserve assessment and extraction
- Advising on the development of extraction models tailored to specific reserve types (free, dissolved, and adsorbed gas).
- Designing extraction well systems and wellhead gas processing facilities.
- Advising on the transport of natural hydrogen to consumption points or processing facilities.
Investment connection
- Connecting potential exploration projects with specialized investment funds.
- Assisting in the negotiation and signing of Production Sharing Contracts (PSCs) with partners.
